In order to gain a natural glow, a lot of brides to be are gravitating to the spray tan. Let’s face it, you have spent a lot of time and money making sure that every other little detail has been taken care of, why not make sure that you have the tone that you want as well. Especially since you are going to be wearing white which brings up presents all kinds of problems. We will say this, there is quite a bit to know about spray tanning and what you need to do in order to make it work for you, so let’s get started.
In terms of timing, we highly recommend that you have your tan applied two days before your wedding date. There are a few reasons for this. You want to make sure that the first layer of the tan has been washed off while the rest has soaked into your skin. It is then safe to add your own moisturizer. Another issue to consider here is that since you are having the tan applied two days ahead of time, you will have a chance to see how it turned out to make sure that it is exactly like you want it. If it turns out to not be perfect, there will still be time to fix it. A lot of brides to be worry that the spray will get on their dress, but by applying it two days ahead of time and showering, there is no chance of that happening. By showering, any excess formula will be rinsed off and you will be left with what has soaked into the skin.
There are some things that you can do in order to be prepared for your application day and your wedding day. It is a very good idea for you to start exfoliating at least two times per week in the months leading up to your big day. Make sure that you use an oil-based exfoliant. By doing this, you are getting rid of the dead skin cells and your tan will look even and fresh. In addition, your fake tan will hold longer and look better when you moisturize every day after you shower. The only thing that you will want to make sure of is to not apply any lotion on the day of your spray tan application.
Picking the bronze shade that would be best for you involves a few different factors. First of all, you need to consider the shade you are already. Have you been spending many days at the beach over the past few months? If so, then you are obviously already going to be darker than you normally are. This means you might be able to go a shade or two darker depending on how tones you are. You want to pick a shade that looks natural. Some of that has to do with your hair and eye color. For instance, if you have dark hair and eyes, you can go a bit darker with your spray tan. On the other hand, if you are blond with blue eyes, you will want to go with a tone that is lighter.
You are probably wondering how you will be able to convey to the tanning salon staff the actual tone that you desire. One of the best ways you can convey this is to have a picture or two of someone who has a tone that you would like to emulate. For example, you may really like the Mariah Carey’s skin, then by all means bring a picture of her. Doing this at least give your consultant a target to shoot for. And speaking of tanning salons, you will want to be sure to look for a vendor that doesn’t make everyone look exactly the same. You will want to ask for a portfolio of people that frequent the salon and get a sense of the kind of spray tan the company is capable of. Also, have a talk with the staff about the spray tan formula they use. Make sure that it has a green undertone because that will help eliminate any potential chance of you looking orange after your application. We suggest booking a trial early on at any salon you are interested in just so there are no hiccups when it comes time to do the real deal.
After the application, there are a few things that you can do in order to enhance your tan. Applying a really high quality lotion goes a long way to making your look your absolute best. There are dry oils out there that will give your skin and tone a shimmer which will look very sexy. It will act as a highlighter and will help define your muscles which will make you look absolutely stunning for the camera which keep in mind will be pointing at you several times during your special day. If you want your tan to remain for several days after application, you can use what is called a gradual moisturizer. When you have done your due diligence in relation to your spray tan, we feel confident that you will be walking down the aisle looking absolutely radiant and so should you.
