Bachelor of Engineering (Part time) from Anna University
Anna University is a prominent technological institution in the country. Based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu the university is ranked as 9th best and encompasses one of the oldest technical institutes of the world. The university offers courses in almost all known disciplines of engineering. It has various modes of education, such as full time, part time and correspondence. There are a number of branches that are taught in the university ranging from Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Textile Technology, Leather Technology amongst others. These programs are offered on part-time basis as an Evening program in the University department of Anna. The duration of these programs is 3 and half years that comprises 7 semesters.
The classes for the same are held in evening, from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. Candidates those who wish to take admission in this evening course should be able to pacify the university that they will be able to attend the classes in the evenings and also on holidays, in order to fulfill the requirements in regards to the minimum attendance rules set up by the University.
The eligibility requirements for the same should include the Diploma examination in Engineering/Technology in the relevant branch of specialization. As per the university requirements, candidates should be working within a distance of 90 km from the university so that commuting daily to the university doesn’t become a problem. Out of the total 100 marks, 75 are dedicated to the diploma course while 25 are reserved for work experience. The candidate should be able to produce a valid proof of employment that might include sponsorship certificate, or work experience certificate.
Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
It is India’s leading recognized professional society that is devoted to the advancement of science, technology, electronics, and telecommunication and information technology. The organization was founded in 1953, and is recognized by Association of Indian Universities.
AMIETE & DIPIETE
The institute conducts courses, short term as well as long term in various disciplines of telecommunication engineering. The IETE conducts Graduateship (AMIETE) Examination in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology branches streams. It also conducts Diploma (DIPIETE) Examination in Electronics & Telecommunication and Computer Science & Engineering streams. A candidate who has cleared AMIETE Examination is recognized by Government of India for the purposes of recruitment to superior posts and services under the Central Government. Similarly a candidate who has cleared Diploma Level (DIPIETE) Examination is recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India for the purpose of employment to posts & services under the Central Government in the appropriate field.
ALCCS or Advanced Level Course in Computer Science is an advanced course in Computers which equivalent to M. Tech in Computer Science.
Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering
Founded in 1957, Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering is a non-profit organization whose motive was to propagate Industrial Engineering in India. Headquartered at Navi Mumbai, IIIE comprises a National Council that consists of twelve elected representatives. It offers three classes of memberships that include Fellow, Member and Associate Member. The body is responsible for holding seminars, industry visits, special lectures and conferences.
IIIE conducts a graduateship examination that enables candidates to acquire membership of the institution. Recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, IIIE graduates are eligible to sit for GATE conducted by IITs and IISc. Specially designed for working professionals, the examination demands aspirants to be not less than 18 years of age, pass in 10+2+3 examination system with at least two years of work experience. Further, a student who is a science graduate supplemented by one year of work experience is also eligible to sit for the course examination.
