Jaya’s father, R. Kelly, is a popular American R&B, soul & hip-hop singer-songwriter and record producer. He’s currently charged with different degrees of sex offenses for which he is liable to about 30 years imprisonment. Jaya Kelly Biography 

Jaya Kelly was born Jaya Lee Kelly in 2000, in the United States of America. He is also known as Jaah Baby or Jay Kelly. Currently, he is 23 years old. His parents are American choreographer, Andrea Kelly (nee Lee) and singer-songwriter, R. Kelly. Jay is the second child of his parents’ three children. His parents finalized their divorce in 2009, when he was barely nine years old. JoAnn Kelly (born in 1998; 25 years old) and Robert Kelly Jr., (born in 2002; 21 years old) are the names of his older sister and younger brother, respectively. 

Jaya’s sister, JoAnn, also known as Buku Abi, is said to have been named after his grandmother, Joanne Kelly, to honor her. Jay Kelly’s grandmother, Joanne, died from cancer in 1993. Theresa Kelley is given as Jaya’s paternal aunt while Luscious is given as the name of his paternal step-grandfather. 

Jaya Kelly grew up in the company of his two siblings, with whom he also holds American citizenship by birth. He’s originally a native of the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, U.S. He was “born in a female body” but started identifying as a male from the early ages of either six or seven. In an interview he had with Paper Magazine, he revealed that he wore boy’s clothes at school around those years and often got bullied by his classmates. Currently, he has completed his transition and is now a transgender male. 

For his education, he holds a High School Diploma holder, at the minimum. And looking at his body features, Jay Kelly has a pair of beautiful black eyes and short kinky black hair. His ethnicity is Black (Afro-American). 

Jaya Kelly Career 

Jaya Kelly started his career under the name Jaah Baby (JaahBaby). At the age of 14 in 2014, he released his debut single titled “Reservoir.” Nonetheless, there’s not much information when it comes to his career portfolio. 

Jaya Kelly Gender Transition, Girlfriend 

Jaah came out as a transgender male in June 2014, when he was 13 years old. Before he came out, however, he already knew he was “born in the wrong body.” He’d later reveal that he found out he was a transgender at the age of either six or seven during a question-and-answer session on his Ask.fm account to his supporters. In an Instagram post, Jaya wrote in full; 

“I came out through a text to my mum and then I told her when I got more comfortable. I told her because I knew she would love me no matter what, she has not once judged me in life. She always told me that she loved me and to be who I truly am. And same with my sister, she told me that she was proud of me, and respects me by calling me handsome and calling me her little brother now, and I love her for that, so you know it was great for me. I believe I am a boy and want surgery, and the medication to help me (be) who I was supposed to be.” 

Reacting to his come out text message to her mom, Jaya Kelly’s mother, Andrea Kelly, texted him back; “You know I love you if you were bi, homosexual, lesbian, you name it and I would still love you so much.” 

Jaya has since his coming out transitioned into a transgender man. Currently, he has completed his surgery and taken all the necessary medications prescribed to him. He once said he had an interest in a lady, but didn’t reveal much about that. In that effect, details about his romantic life are unknown. Even more, he’s not as socially (internet) accessible as he probably used to be. 

Jaya Kelly’s Parents’ Marriage, Divorce 

Jaya Kelly’s parents, R. Kelly (born Robert Sylvester Kelly on January 8, 1967; 56 years old) and Andrea Kelly (born Andrea Danyell Lee on January 28, 1974; 49 years old) got married in a private wedding party that was held in Colorado, U.S in 1996. At the time of their marriage, Jaya’s father was 29 years old while his mother was 22 years old. 

Before their marriage, Jaya’s mother, Andrea Kelly, who goes by the stage name Drea was a backup backup dancer for Kelly. Less than a decade after their marriage, Andrea filed for a divorce in 2006. Prior to the divorce application, Andrea filed for a restraining order against R. Kelly in September 2005, with the claims that he (Kelly) assaulted her when she told him she wanted a divorce. In January 2009, the divorce was finalized, with Jaah’s parents signing an NDA. In that event, his mother, Andrea, was given an undisclosed amount of money for alimony. 

In a 2018 interview on The View, Jaya Kelly’s mother, Andrea, revealed that she survived Kelly, stating that she suffered from physical, verbal, and mental abuse from him  for the most part of their 13 year-long romantic union. Even more, she revealed that she contemplated suicide at some point. According to her, the abuse she went through is behind why she suffers from PTSD. Once Kelly assaulted her in the back of his Hummer, and again he “hogtied” her in bed, raped her, and fell asleep while she was still tied. For her, she decided to speak up after many years of getting away from her abuser to help other victims of domestic violence. 

A few years after she divorced from Kelly, Andrea Kelly remarried. She got hitched to the 36-year-old barber and R&B singer, Brian McKee, with whom she got married in 2014. However, she and Brian were not married for up to a year, as she started hearing scores of his extramarital affairs two months into the marriage. Then, she filed for a divorce from him, and hasn’t had any known romantic relationship history since then. 

Jaya Kelly’s Father’s Rape & Child Pornography Accusations

Jaya Kelly’s father R. Kelly was born Robert Sylvester Kelly was born on January 8, 1967 (56 years old)  at Chicago Lying-In Hospital, now University of Chicago Medical Center, on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, U.S. He started his musical 1989 at the age of 22. However, his career came to an end on February 22, 2019 after he was apprehended and charged with different counts of crimes. 

Currently, his criminal status is incarcerated at MCC Chicago in Chicago, Illinois (BOP awaiting assignment to federal prison 09627-035). By February 23, 2023, he’d be sentenced to 30 years in imprisonment at Chicago court. Enough said, his crimes are sexual exploitation of a child, racketeering, bribery, sex trafficking, enticing a child, producing child pornography (2022), and violation of the Mann Act (2021). He was tried in the Eastern District of New York in 2021 and again in the Northern District of Illinois in 2022. 

Jaya Kelly Net Worth 

Jaya Kelly has an estimated net worth of between 300k thousand and $500k thousand. On the flip side, his father, R. Kelly, has a net worth estimated to be $100 million at the time of his apprehension. Since he’d be in prison for thirty years at which point he would be 85 years old at the time of his release in 2053, Jaya, his two siblings, and mother very likely have a great stake in his fortune and net worth as it stands. Jaah’s mother, Andrea Kelly, has an estimated net worth of between $5 million and $20 million.
