How would you define sustainable living?
When you change the way, you live in a manner that it lessens the burden on the planet and minimizes the degradation of the environment. It includes reducing consumption of non-replenishable natural resources so as to ensure the future generation has enough of it to consume and preserve further.
Why do we need to shift our approach towards more sustainable living?
Look around you and tell us if you can deny the impact of our inconsiderate action on the ecosystem?
The depleting natural resources, climate change, global warming are for real and needs to be immediately addressed and acted upon. Our every action will either contribute to a healthier environment or will take ecosystem degradation deeper. This is why we need to live a more sustainable life and ensure minimum impact on the planet by minimum consumption of already depleting natural resources and reducing wastage.
How can we lead a more sustainable life?
BECOME A MINIMALIST:
In no way, minimalism means avoiding yourself from the necessities. It is the way of consuming resources only when it is necessary, recycle, reuse and reduce the wastage. A minimalistic lifestyle encourages you to be more mindful of your actions.
SWITCH TO A GREENER ENERGY SOURCE:
The emission from the tube rods and the fluorescent bulbs are adding to the emission, leading to global warming. What you can do to prevent this is to renovate your residential or commercial area into a more high-performance building by getting it consulting an environmental building certification holder. They will guide you as to how to rebuild your home into a green building so as to utilize maximum solar energy.
Wherever possible, try to reduce the printing of paper. Reduce your carbon footprints on the planet by going paperless and have everything documented on your smartphones. This goes without saying, but we need trees to pull out carbon dioxide from the air for us to survive.
While you are planning to revamp your lifestyle with sustainable living, it is essential that you steer clear of these misconceptions that have long been in the times for sustainable living:
IT IS A TREND THAT WILL GO AWAY:
This needs to get out of everybody’s mind. Sustainable living and development is the need of the hour and not a fad that will pass. It is crucial to living a life more considerate towards the ecological system to make sure we leave a healthy planet for the generations to come.
SUSTAINABLE IS ONLY ABOUT ENVIRONMENT:
So you think by cutting down trees and wasting precious natural resources, you are only impacting the environment and not your life? What you do and how you do affect you, so does choose to live a sustainable life, which yields long term benefits.
SUSTAINABLE LIVING MEANS A LOWER QUALITY OF LIFE:
To think that sustainable living means cutting back on things we love would be foolishness. Sustainable living means reducing consumption and wastage, where you feel it is unnecessary. It might mean having to leave a few things, but know that you are doing it for your good. And in the long run., your quality of life is only going to increase after adopting sustainable living.
So, what are you waiting for?
Switch to a high-performance rating lifestyle with sustainable living.
