Autograph (Arthur Rowly)
Name?
Arthur Rowley, but my friends call me Rowie.
Birthday?
June 10th1984.
What is your ambition in life?
My ambition is to become a successful digital marketing coach and support people in pursuing their marketing dreams.
If you could choose, what animal would you be?
Oh, that is not an easy one. Ideally, I would love to try several animals. If you asked me what mythical creature I’d be, it would be simple –a shapeshifter. Does it have to be an animal? Okay, I would be a seagull! For me, seagulls symbolize freedom, opportunity, and security at the same time. If you take time to observe how they behave, you will notice that they see a chance to catch fish everywhere and at every moment. They also look like they know how to truly enjoy life.
What Do You Do?
Right now, I am working for a company that is setting up an online casino. My role is to increase their brand awareness and generate leads through various digital channels, but I am focused on creating content for their blog and advertising. Other than that, I started a blog about digital marketing intending to help individuals and businesses fulfill their goals.
What Do You Enjoy Doing When You Are Not Busy?
When is that? Honestly, for a long period, I practically didn’t have free time. You know how it is, between work, love and social life, it is hard to find some moments for yourself. But, now things are a bit different since I managed to become known in this business. What do I like to do? I love traveling, so I use every chance to go somewhere. The advantage of this industry is that you can work from everywhere. Okay, this is now a bit complicated because of COVID 19, but in general, it’s what I enjoy most. Besides, I love to read and watch TV series and films.
What is Your Favorite Food?
Cheese! I have an emotional relationship with cheese! I used to be vegan for about a year and a half, but I could bear not being able to eat cheese. If you asked me about the meal, then I would have to say it bun bo, Vietnamese soup with rice vermicelli, beef, lemongrass, and different vegetables.
If you could pick one place where you would spend your life, where would it be?
I don’t think I am the type of person who wants to settle. Ideally, I would change places every year or two. I guess I am a natural-born nomad. I guess, somewhere where it never gets cold. Maybe, on a small island in the tropics, if I have to choose. But, I would first have to see the entire world to answer that question. There are so many places that I’ve never visited and can’t imagine how it would be to live there. But, yeah, the sun and sea are essential for me, so it would have to be some island or something like that.
You mentioned you like to read! What are your favorite books?
You will laugh, but one of my favorite books is the Harry Potter series. You know, it is for kids in some aspects, but in others, it is really for everyone. I love the world that J.K Rowling has created, how she took parts of different mythologies and designed something new. Every character in this story is unique, and you can relate in some sense. And then, if we are talking about serious literature, I have always been a big fan of James Joyce, Kafka, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Umberto Ecco, etc. If you haven’t read the Name of the Rose, I strongly recommend it. Ah, also To Kill a Mocking Bird. The last two books that affected me are The Lying Life of Adults by Elena Ferrante and The Well of Loneliness by Radclyffe Hall.
Describe yourself
I am a passionate and hardworking person who likes to support and motivate others to pursue their dreams. My biggest passion is writing, and so far, I have written plenty of articles for myself and other people. I would love to write a best seller one day.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I am an introvert.
Okay, let’s get back to your work. How did you learn about digital marketing?
After university, I started teaching English in one elementary school. I believed it to be my calling, and I was super passionate about it. But don’t get me started on everything wrong! I mean, the kids were fantastic! But, most of them are underprivileged, so as you can imagine, no one was particularly interested in investing in their education. So, after about five years, I decided that I had to change work since I coudn’t change the system. I couldn’t find an attractive teaching position, so I researched online marketing, and digital marketing seemed like an exciting idea. Then I attended two digital marketing boot camps – at the University of California, Davis, and found a job, and here we are.
What did you want to be as a kid?
Ha, ha! I wanted to be Yoda.
Wow! Why Yoda?
Ha, ha! You thought I’d say something like a doctor or firefighter, right! Or some superhero! No, I don’t know, I was never into super and action heroes. I admire Yoda because he is wise and connected to the Force more than others. I wanted to be wise, I guess, ha, ha.
What do you love about digital marketing?
I love that it is a fast-moving and constantly evolving environment. You have new platforms and applications emerging daily. You have to be up to date with all the trends in web design, social media SEO. Besides that, I love being part of such an enormous community. There are about 3.5 million online marketers in the world. That gives you a chance to meet quite a lot of interesting people.

Yeah! I love legal medical and legal drama. Crime and mystery, too! My favorite series are the Good Doctor, Suits, and Mare of Easttown… It doesn’t belong to any of these categories, but I recently saw Nine Perfect Strangers, and I fell in love with it. Ah, my all-time favorite is La Casa de Papel (Money Heist). Have you seen it? Favorite movie? Call me old-fashioned, but it is The Godfather.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud that I successfully changed my career. Besides that, I am proud of my blog. It is still at the beginning, but people are starting to notice it.
Is there something you are not proud of?
I am not proud of the way I argue with people! I need to find a way to be calmer!
The scariest thing you have done?
It certainly isn’t the scariest thing for many people, but I remember being terrified on my first roller coaster ride when I was a kid.
What are you afraid of?
Ha, ha! I am afraid of getting stuck in a public toilet.
